Swiss confectionery company Roelli Roelli has created a cannabis chewing gum as part of its Swiss brand.
Many companies have utilised the cannabis trend in beverages, but Roelli Roelli has incorporated the medical advantages of cannabidiol (CBD), the hemp plant extract, in the form of a chewing gum. The gum was created to harness the benefits of CBD by relieving the consumer of physical and mental conditions such as nausea, anxiety, and psychosis.
As well as other numerous health benefits, CBD is a natural antioxidant, which is a cell-protecting attribute to improve health in the longer-term.
Roelli Roelli said: “In old medical books, hemp is even called a panacea, or ‘cure-all’. Nowadays many people today successfully use CBD to alleviate sleep disorders, anxiety or nausea.
“Recent studies indicate that it can even provide relief for acute chronic diseases such as epilepsy, RLS, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and cancer. Our chewing gum contains a high concentration of the antioxidant CBD.”
120mg of CBD is contained within each pack. As many doctors and pharmacists recommend a minimum daily dose of 15–30 milligrams, this product will provide consumers with an easy way to ‘create well-being’, Roelli Roelli said.
It also said the gum is easy to dose and maintains fresh breath and the natural flora of the mouth due to the inclusion of natural peppermint oil and 15% xylitol.
The cannabis chewing gum is currently available from Roelli Roelli at €7.33, and from Swiss pharmacies and chemists.
