Aryzta is an international food business with a leadership position in frozen B2B bakery. Though based in Switzerland, the group has its origins in the Republic of Ireland and was originally the Irish Co-Operative Agricultural Agency Society and later the Irish Agricultural Wholesale Society before adopting its current name in 2008, having merged with Hiestand Holding. The word ‘Aryzta’ comes from the Latin ‘arista’, meaning the apex of a grain of wheat.
