The JM Smucker Company is a North American manufacturer of various food and beverage products. In consumer foods and beverages, its brands include Smucker’s, Folgers, Jif, Dunkin’ Donuts (licensed from Dunkin’ Brands), Crisco, Café Bustelo, R.W. Knudsen Family, Sahale Snacks, Smucker’s Uncrustables, Robin Hood, and Bick’s. It holds leadership positions in peanut butter through Jif, in at-home coffee through Folgers, and in fruit spreads with the self-titled Smuckers brand. It also has a wide portfolio of pet food.
The company was founded more than 120 years ago by Jerome Monroe Smucker – a farmer in Orrville, Ohio – who built a cider mill and later expanded into apple butter, selling his products from the back of a horse-drawn wagon. The company’s current portfolio would not be unfamiliar to the original Smucker, not least the core range of spreads, and the company continues to maintain its headquarters in Orrville to this day.
