Black Tower launches in a Rexam can

The black and silver aluminium can is 100% recyclable, lightweight and unbreakable. Black Tower Fizz is aimed at younger drinkers and anyone who wants to enjoy a fun and refreshing semi-sparkling wine that's characterised by its fresh and fruity liveliness.

Wine in cans is growing in popularity among modern, young consumers. Rexam’s 200ml and 250ml wine cans are compact and easy to chill, and research has shown that the can keeps wine perfectly fresh, making it ideal for enjoying in clubs and bars or outdoors at picnics, barbecues, sports events and festivals.

Nik Schritz, managing director of Black Tower brand owner, Reh Kendermann, said: “The quality of this semi-sparkling wine in the stylish can format reflects the fresh and vibrant image of Black Tower. Using the powerful Black Tower brand and the convenient can format, we expect to attract an ever increasing number of new, younger consumers to the brand.”

Gote Nylin, market development director for Rexam Beverage Can Europe, added: “Putting wine in cans helps broaden the appeal of wine to more consumers who are looking for convenience without sacrificing quality. The design possibilities are endless with the 360-degree print area. And by using a wide variety of different textures, inks and varnishes, cans can create a bold statement and enhance shelf impact.”

Rexam’s plant in Recklinghausen, Germany, is producing the cans, which are expected to be available throughout the UK from this summer.
