DSM-Firmenich has completed the sale of its yeast extract business to Lesaffre, a French company specialising in fermentation and microorganisms.

The deal, initially announced in June, will see 46 DSM-Firmenich employees transfer to Lesaffre.

As part of the transaction, Lesaffre will supply yeast extracts to DSM-Firmenich for its Savory business, and the two companies will enter a technology partnership to develop yeast extracts.

The acquisition, alongside the tech partnership, will enhance Lesaffre's position in the savory ingredients market, strengthening its R&D capabilities and expanding its product range in savory and fermentation-based applications.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
