Karri Koskela, CEO of Wipak, has been elected chair of Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE), the trade association representing over 80 companies in the European flexible packaging sector.

He succeeds Jakob A Mosser, who held the role for five years. Michele Guala was re-elected vice-chair.
Koskela brings more than two decades of international leadership experience in the packaging industry. In his role at Wipak and parent company Wihuri Packaging, he has focused on sustainable and innovative packaging solutions. He is also active in various industry bodies and supervisory boards.
Commenting on his election, Koskela said: “I am delighted to have the trust and opportunity to accompany the association during a phase of significant transformation of the industry. Together with the member companies, we will continue to strengthen flexible packaging with a focus on the circular economy, innovation and market growth."
"I would also like to thank Jakob Mosser for his leadership during two particularly challenging and defining episodes for our industry – the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing policy process around the PPWR. His commitment has made a lasting contribution to FPE’s strong positioning.”
