Pure Dairy's new state-of-the-art manufacturing and cheese processing facility is on track for production launch in April 2025, marking a significant development in the Australian dairy sector.

The 13,000-square-metre facility, located in Dandenong South’s industrial precinct, is nearing completion with structural work finished and automated processing equipment being installed.

The facility will feature advanced technology that has not previously been seen in Australia.

Key milestones in the construction include the completion of the main structure and the initiation of internal fit-outs, which also encompass the development of a test kitchen aimed at fostering dairy innovation.

The installation of fully automated processing systems is expected to enhance operational efficiency and maintain consistent quality across product lines.

The new facility will also incorporate energy- and water-saving technologies, reflecting a growing trend among manufacturers to prioritise environmental responsibility in production processes.

Looking ahead, the next phases will involve finalising equipment installation and conducting operational tests, which will precede a gradual ramp-up in production capacity.

This methodical approach aims to ensure that all systems meet strict quality and efficiency standards before full-scale operations begin.

Once operational, the facility is expected to produce a diverse range of premium products, including both plant-based and traditional dairy items such as mozzarella, cheddar and speciality cheeses, targeting both domestic and international markets.

The project is projected to create over 100 new jobs, contributing significantly to the local economy in Melbourne’s southeastern region and providing new opportunities for Pure Dairy’s network of suppliers and manufacturing partners.
