Wall’s Pastry adds to savoury pastry category with latest launch

Wall’s Pastry adds to savoury pastry category with latest launch

The Compleat Food Group-owned brand Wall’s Pastry has announced the launch of two new quiches as it looks to shake-up the chilled savoury pastry category. Wall’s’ new individual quiches come in two flavour varieties, Cheese & Bacon and Cheese & Onion, crafted to tap into single serve occasions in a category ‘dominated by own-label products in larger family size formats’. Both quiches are made with extra mature cheddar cheese, single cream and Dijon mustard, encased in shortcrust pastry. The Cheese & Bacon Quiche is packed with beechwood smoked British bacon while the Cheese & Onion Quiche is filled with fresh onion and Red Leicester cheese. Jason Manley, brand director at Wall’s Pastry, said: “When we found that there was a demand for smaller quiche sizes, as well as a lack of any strong brand dominance within this space, we knew we had an opportunity to add something fresh to the category. Our delicious new quiches will give shoppers the confidence that what they’re picking up not only tastes great, but also won’t go to waste.” He continued: “This is just the start of an exciting year for Wall’s, with more launches in the pipeline that will satisfy more occasions and offer people even more ways to enjoy traditional pastry classics in a format that suits them.” The new quiches each weigh 170g and are available to purchase in UK retailers now for an RRP of £2.
