Diageo has appointed John O’Keeffe as CEO and president of its North America business, effective April 2026.

Diageo is a global leader in premium drinks with a large collection of beverage alcohol brands across spirits, beer and wine – including Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, J&B, Buchanan’s, Windsor, Smirnoff, Cîroc and Ketel One vodkas, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Don Julio, Tanqueray and Guinness.


Diageo was formed in 1997 from the merger of Guinness and Grand Metropolitan. The company owned Pillsbury until 2000, when it was sold to General Mills. In 2002, Diageo sold the Burger King fast food restaurant chain to a consortium led by US firm Texas Pacific for $1.5bn.


Today, the company sells its products in more than 180 countries and is listed on the London and New York Stock Exchanges.
