Anheuser-Busch has announced it is investing $15.5 million to upgrade its brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado, US. The investment will be used to upgrade its bottling lines from packed to bulk glass, in a shift away from packed glass. This will enable the brewery to streamline production in-house, strengthen its supply chain, reduce emissions and drive efficiencies across the business. Tim Seitz, general manager at the Fort Collins Brewery, said: "Transforming our bottling line from a packed glass to bulk glass system enables us to be more efficient with our brewery's beer production. Enhancing our brewery's infrastructure also builds on our capabilities as a brewer and gives our employees the opportunity to develop new technical skillsets and personally contribute to the innovation and growth of the company." Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, commented: "Investing in the communities where our people live and work is part of who we are. This investment in our Fort Collins brewery not only drives efficiencies for our business and improves the capabilities of our facility, but it also puts Anheuser-Busch in a unique position to build on our industry-leading support for our employees with on-the-job education and growth opportunities for our frontline workers." Fort Collins Brewery, which opened in 1988, brews 33 different beer brands. The Fort Collins brewery is one of two Anheuser-Busch facilities that cans clean, safe drinking water for its ‘Emergency Drinking Water’ programme. The team periodically pauses brewing to produce and can emergency drinking water. Fort Collins brewery expects the enhanced bottling lines to be fully operational by summer 2024.
