Campari Group acquires spirits importer Trans Beverages, renames to Campari Korea

Campari Group acquires spirits importer Trans Beverages, renames to Campari Korea

Campari Group has announced the acquisition of all outstanding shares in Trans Beverages Co, a premium spirits importer, sales and marketing company, as of December 2024.

With this acquisition, Trans Beverages is now a fully owned subsidiary of Campari and will operate under the new name, Campari Korea Co.

Originally established as a joint venture between Campari and local Korean entrepreneurs in March 2018, Trans Beverages has strengthened its position in the Korean spirits market. Over the years, the company has built a strong presence for several of Campari's brands, including Wild Turkey Bourbon, The Glen Grant Single Malt and Russell’s Reserve.

HoJoon Ryu, managing director of Campari Korea, said: “I’m very proud of the success of Campari Korea. Thanks to our strong team and product portfolio, I have full confidence that we will continue to create value and deliver on the Campari Group's long-term ambitions in Korea. We thank Campari for its continued confidence and trust in the Korean business”.

Matthijs Kramer, managing director of Campari APAC, added: “We are looking to the future with optimism in Korea. The acquisition of the remaining shares reflects our strong belief in the long-term growth potential of the Korean market for our brands. We will continue to honor the country's rich culture and deliver on meeting the refined tastes of our Korean consumers”.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
