Lactalis has reached an agreement to acquire Australian yogurt company Jalna.
The company says the acquisition will help expand its yogurt portfolio and position in the Australian dairy market.
The transaction includes the Jalna brand, a production facility in Melbourne, Victoria, and a milk farm in northern Victoria.
In a company statement, Lactalis said: “Jalna is a fully integrated, ‘paddock-to-pot’ dairy business that produces pot set yogurts, manufactures the majority of its unique containers and operates a biodynamic farm, with a strong focus on Greek, organic and all-natural yogurts”.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Last month, Lactalis acquired the assets and brands of Bayerische Milchindustrie eG.
