UK smoothie brand Mockingbird is set to introduce its latest product, the 'Raw Gut Shot,' to select Waitrose stores next week.
This new gut health juice shot aims to capitalise on the increasing consumer interest in digestive wellness, a trend that has gained traction in the food and beverage sector.
The Raw Gut Shot, retailing at £6.25 for a 420 ml bottle, combines lemon, honey and lemon balm, enriched with chicory root fibre to support digestive health.
Each 60ml serving is designed to provide 100% of the daily recommended intake of vitamins A, B, C and D, aligning with the growing demand for functional beverages that offer health benefits.
Since its entry into the shots category last year, Mockingbird has introduced health products that emphasise vibrant flavours and functional ingredients.
The launch of the Raw Gut Shot expands the brand's existing line-up, which includes the Raw Ginger shot, reflecting a strategic response to market research indicating that 23% of consumers are interested in gut health benefits in juices and smoothies, according to Mintel.
Mockingbird co-founder Chris Laidlaw said: "With gut health being a major trend, the Raw Gut Shot SKU was a natural next step for us".
The brand's new gut health juice shot is made using fresh, raw ingredients processed through a high-pressure method that preserves nutritional value. It employs a cold-pressing technique that maintains the integrity of the ingredients, contrasting with traditional methods that often lead to nutrient loss.
Mockingbird has become a fast-growing smoothie brand in the UK, with distribution in over 25,000 retail locations.
