UK ice cream brand Oppo Brothers has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new high-protein ice cream line, Oppo Pro, aimed at the growing “active health” consumer segment.
The new products deliver 15g of protein per 140g serving and are designed to be lower in calories and sugar than regular premium ice cream. They are also high in fibre and are positioned as compatible with GLP-1 weight management programmes.
Oppo Brothers developed the products following consumer research with more than 5,000 people. The new range includes two flavours: Chocolate Brownie, made with whole milk, cream, brownie pieces and a chocolate fudge swirl; and Strawberry Cheesecake, made with whole milk, cream, biscuit pieces and a strawberry swirl.
Harry Thuillier, co-founder of Oppo Brothers, said: “We’ve seen chilled protein desserts flying off the shelves but lacking in indulgence. 90% of those consumers told us what they really wanted was a great quality high protein ice cream. It felt like a natural next step for our range of better-for-you ice cream that allow you to treat yourself well, any day.”
Oppo Pro is available exclusively via Ocado, priced at £3.50 per 140g tub. It joins the company’s existing portfolio, which includes lower-calorie 475ml tubs and Oppo Refreshed ice cream sticks.
