Paquera Mezcal launches Wagyu-infused spirit

Paquera Mezcal has unveiled a unique addition to its portfolio with the launch of its limited-edition Mezcal Ancestral infused with Wagyu beef.

This spirit, crafted under the guidance of head mezcalero Valentin Orozco Lopez, aims to redefine mezcal production by integrating high-end Wagyu flavours into the distillation process.

The new mezcal is produced using open-range Tajima Wagyu from Arrington Ranch in Twin Bridges, Montana. The beef is wrapped in twine and suspended in clay pots during the initial stages of distillation.

According to Paquera, the Wagyu flavours "slowly drip into the clay pot," resulting in a distinctive buttery finish that sets this expression apart from traditional mezcal offerings.

The company’s latest release is positioned as a premium product, retailing for $230 per bottle with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 48%.

In addition to the Wagyu mezcal, Paquera has also introduced a seasonal Mezcal Artesanal with Mango, which features two types of mangoes sourced from Amatengo Ejutia. This expression, with an ABV of 46%, retails for $109 and reflects Paquera's dedication to artisanal production methods, honed over generations by family artisans in Oaxaca.

The introduction of these products comes amidst a growing trend in the spirits industry toward unique flavor combinations and premium offerings.

As consumer interest in artisanal and craft spirits continues to rise, Paquera aims to position itself at the forefront of the mezcal market by blending traditional techniques with innovative ingredients.

Both expressions are available for purchase exclusively through Paquera's online platform, marking a significant step in the company's strategy to expand its reach in the competitive spirits landscape.

The brand says that its mezcals are crafted to be savoured, encouraging consumers to appreciate the intricate flavours and quality of the products.
