Snacking giant Pladis, owner of the McVitie’s, Godiva and Ülker brands, has announced that its CEO, Salman Amin, has stepped down with immediate effect.
Pladis, which is a UK-headquartered subsidiary of the Turkish food group Yildiz, shared the news in a statement yesterday (24 February 2025).
The company confirmed that Amin had left the group for ‘personal reasons’. Sridhar Ramamurthy, chief financial officer and Tim Brett, managing director for Europe and developing markets, have assumed temporary oversight of Pladis following Amin’s departure.
Amin had been with the company for six years, having joined Pladis as chief executive in February 2019. Prior to this, he served as a non-executive director at ITV.
His previous experience in the FMCG sector includes 17 years at PepsiCo, where he served in roles including executive vice president and chief marketing officer, and president of UK and Ireland. He also served as chief operating officer for global commercial markets at SC Johnson.
Ramamurthy and Brett, who have previously worked in leadership roles at Unilever and The Coca-Cola Company respectively, will take on Amin’s responsibilities until a new chief executive is appointed.
