Pladis launches pineapple-flavoured Jaffa Cakes in the UK

Pladis launches pineapple-flavoured Jaffa Cakes in the UK

Pladis UK&I is expanding its Jaffa Cakes range in the UK with the introduction of a new pineapple-flavoured variant. McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Pineapple will feature the brand's signature light sponge coated in delicious milk and dark chocolate with a new pineapple centre, providing a "tropical twist". The release follows the successful introduction of Pineapple-flavoured Jaffa Cakes cake bars in the UK last year, and seeks to capitalise on the growing demand for 'playful, contemporary flavours' among younger consumers. The brand has released a range of new formats and flavours across the Jaffa Cakes range in recent times, as aims to reach new consumers and new snacking occasions. This included the release of Jaffa Cakes Nibbles in January 2019, a product line aimed at consumers who were looking for on-the-go snacking options. Emma Stowers, brand director for McVitie’s at Pladis UK&I said: “McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Pineapple will offer consumers a trendy twist on the much-loved classic. “McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes are already a store-cupboard staple for almost a third (31%) of UK households, with over 1 billion devoured each year. "We want to encourage even more shoppers to get behind the brand, and we’re confident that the launch of McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Pineapple will help the brand appeal both to a new generation of consumers and existing Jaffa Cakes fans seeking something a little bit different.” McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Pineapple will be available nationwide from major UK retailers from February 2020.
