Santa Maria has launched a new range of Korean sauces, seasonings and pastes aimed at foodservice operators in the UK, capitalising on the rapid growth of Korean cuisine in the market.
The launch comes as interest in Korean food surges, driven by cultural phenomena such as K-pop and K-beauty, collectively known as Hallyu or the "Korean wave".
Recent data indicates a staggering 450% increase in searches for 'Korean fried chicken near me, highlighting the culinary movement's momentum.
Dishes like Bibimbap are also trending in recipe searches, underscoring that Korean cuisine is becoming a staple rather than a fleeting trend.
Santa Maria's new product line includes five versatile offerings: Black Pepper Soy Sauce, Fermented Chili Sauce, Fermented Soy & Chili Paste, Chili & Sesame Seasoning and Kimchi Paste Chili & Garlic.
All products are vegan and lactose-free, making them suitable for a wide range of dietary preferences.
Barny MacAdam, development chef at Santa Maria Foodservice, said: "We're thrilled to introduce our new range of Korean products at a time when the UK's appetite for K-food is at an all-time high".
He added: "Our mission is to empower chefs and operators to unlock a world of flavour and create exceptional dining experiences".
The sauces and seasonings are designed for various foodservice settings, including casual dining, quick-service restaurants, pubs and workplace catering.
They aim to make it easier for chefs to incorporate Korean flavours into their menus, whether by adding a twist to classic dishes or introducing entirely new offerings.
As the demand for diverse and authentic culinary experiences continues to rise, Santa Maria's new Korean range positions operators to meet consumer expectations and drive repeat business.
The products are now available through national wholesalers, allowing foodservice operators to explore how these flavours can enhance their menu offerings.
