Tetra Pak appoints Sara De Simoni as executive vice president of development and technology

Tetra Pak has appointed Sara De Simoni as executive vice president of development and technology (D&T), effective 1 September 2024.

De Simoni, who has been with Tetra Pak for over 24 years, has a proven track record in driving innovations across various sectors, including solutions development, programme management and equipment engineering.

In her new role, she will focus on delivering high-value innovative solutions for Tetra Pak's food and beverage customers while fostering collaboration across the company to oversee the deployment of these initiatives.

Reporting directly to Adolfo Orive, president and CEO, De Simoni will be a key member of the Tetra Pak executive leadership team. Her experience within the company includes roles as vice president of programme management in D&T and leading the development of carton packaging opening systems.

“Tetra Pak D&T brings together an exceptionally talented team of designers and innovators,” De Simoni shared. “I am proud to lead them in shaping the future of food packaging, focusing on innovation, design excellence, and sustainable solutions that place our customers at the centre of everything we do.”

With sustainability becoming increasingly critical in the food and beverage industry, Tetra Pak’s ambition to create the world’s most sustainable paper-based packaging aligns with growing consumer and regulatory demands for environmentally friendly packaging solutions.

De Simoni’s leadership is expected to accelerate Tetra Pak’s initiatives in this area, enhancing its competitive edge in the market.
