Twinings launches new fruit coolers to meet growing demand for cold infusions

Twinings has announced the launch of its new Fruit Coolers range, designed for consumers seeking refreshing, caffeine-free beverage options during the summer months.

The range currently includes two flavours – Peach and Tropical – both of which can be brewed hot or enjoyed chilled.

The Fruit Coolers are positioned to meet the rising consumer interest in iced and cold tea infusions, with data indicating that 32% of UK consumers have consumed iced or cold teas in the past year.

Each serving contains only 4 calories per 200ml, appealing to health-conscious consumers looking for light refreshment.

“From our rigorous consumer research and monitoring of global consumption trends, we know consumers are always looking for new, exciting ways to elevate their cold drink experiences,” said Gill Close, UK & Ireland marketing director at Twinings.

She continued: "This latest investment in the cold drink space reaffirms our commitment to innovation and evolution – creating the best-tasting drinks for the evolving needs of consumers”.

The preparation method is straightforward: consumers simply brew a tea bag in 200ml of freshly boiled water for three minutes, allow it to cool and serve it over ice.

The Peach Cooler features a delicate infusion of peach with rosehips and white hibiscus, while the Tropical Cooler combines pineapple with roasted chicory root and orange peel.

Twinings has leveraged its 300 years of expertise in tea to develop these new offerings, which were crafted by its Master Blenders and refined through consumer sensory panels.

This approach ensures that the flavours resonate with consumer preferences while maintaining the brand’s reputation for quality.

The Fruit Coolers are available for purchase on Amazon, with wider retail availability set for Waitrose and Tesco on 5 August and Sainsbury’s on 21 August. The RRP for each pack is £2.49.
