Vemag breaks ground on new production hall to enhance manufacturing capabilities

Vemag has marked a pivotal moment in its growth strategy with the groundbreaking of a new production hall, spanning 4,600 square metres, in Verden, Germany. This investment, estimated at approximately €7.5 million, is aimed at bolstering the company's manufacturing capabilities, particularly in the production of double screws and infeed scrolls for vacuum filling machines.

The new facility will streamline the production process, housing everything from raw material storage to innovative manufacturing solutions and packaging. According to production manager Jonas Hohls, this integrated approach is designed to minimise operational distances and optimise efficiency, thereby enhancing overall productivity.

Central to Vemag's operations, double screws play a critical role in the functionality of vacuum filling machines, utilising a double-spindle principle to gently transport flowable products. The simplified design – comprising only two components: the double screw and its housing – facilitates quick changeovers, allowing operators to switch production lines with minimal downtime.

This efficiency is further enhanced by the use of advanced materials and geometries, contributing to improved product hygiene and weight accuracy.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, attended by local officials and media representatives, CEO Andreas Bruns noted the significance of this investment in driving innovation.

"The groundbreaking ceremony for the new hall confirms our commitment to putting the customer at the centre of everything we do," Bruns stated. "By expanding our capacities, we will be able to drive innovation even faster in the future and take our already outstanding values in the areas of weight accuracy, gentle product handling and the durability of our double screws to a new level.”

The relocation of double screw and infeed scroll production from the existing facility is expected to create additional space for the development of new machines and attachments, supporting Vemag's long-term growth strategy. The new production hall is slated for completion in 2026, positioning the company for continued expansion in the competitive food and beverage manufacturing sector.

In addition to the new building, Vemag plans to invest further in state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, reinforcing its commitment to increasing production efficiency and maintaining a competitive edge in the market. This strategic move aligns with the company's objective to foster innovation while ensuring high output rates and low maintenance costs.

The building is scheduled for completion in 2026.
