In time for warmer months, Unilever’s Wall’s has unveiled a trio of new products under its Twister, Cornetto and Guuud frozen treat brands.
Wall’s is expanding its Twister range with the launch of Twister Berry-licious, which the company says is the ‘first ice cream in the market’ to naturally colour tongues blue. The non-HFSS sweet berry-flavoured ice lolly is made with real fruit juice and without artificial flavours or colours.
Rhiannon Lines, Wall’s handheld marketing manager, Unilever, said: “Family favourite Twister is known for its iconic shape and innovative flavour combinations. It is ideal for parents and care givers who want to buy tasty, guilt-free ice creams for kids to enjoy as a treat. Ice cream is all about fun and taste, and what can be more enjoyable than a delicious ice cream that can turn tongues blue – naturally.”
The Cornetto NPD, Cornetto Soft Stracciatella and Caramel, is said to be Unilever's ‘most indulgent Cornetto yet’. It features stracciatella and caramel toppings and sauce and a new crunchy cocoa wafer cone, which is a first for the brand.
Lines commented: “Cornetto Soft was designed to enable people to enjoy the world of soft ice cream at home. This indulgent new Cornetto Soft recipe offers a convenient way for consumers to treat themselves and is perfect for the growing sofa snacking occasion.”
As shoppers continue to seek out healthier choices across the desserts category, Greek style yogurt ice cream brand Guuud is tapping into the trend with the launch of three new flavours, salted caramel, sweet and sour passionfruit and fruity raspberry. With only 68 calories per stick, the yogurt-style ice cream range is HFSS compliant. Lines concluded: “Guuud is a key player in our strategy to de-seasonalise ice cream. Through the brand, we’re creating new all year-round occasions for ice cream as it offers the perfect alternative to a traditional yogurt. Whether it’s enjoyed on-the-go, as an afternoon snack or as part of an indulgent moment on the sofa after dinner, Guuud is designed to unlock new opportunities for frozen treats.”
