Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) is set to launch a limited-edition variant of its popular Dr Pepper Zero Sugar line, named Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Cherry Crush.

This new flavour aims to capitalise on the growing demand for flavoured carbonated beverages, particularly during the Valentine's Day shopping period.

The introduction of Cherry Crush is strategically timed, coinciding with a season that generated £160 million for convenience retailers in 2024, reflecting a 3.2% increase from the previous year.

Notably, Dr Pepper contributed over £3.4 million to this total, underscoring its strong market presence.

Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Cherry Crush combines the brand's existing zero sugar formula with a vibrant cherry flavour, a combination that has proven popular among consumers.

Recent market analysis indicates that cherry variants have driven 55% of value sales growth in the cola segment over the past year.

Flavoured carbonates remain a significant category within the soft drinks market, with Dr Pepper holding the position of the second-largest flavoured carbonate brand in Great Britain.

The product is available in various packaging sizes, including 330ml, 500ml and 2l options.

The eye-catching can design, featuring roses, is expected to enhance shelf visibility during the Valentine's Day period. Consumer testing has indicated strong interest, with over 70% of participants expressing a desire to try the new flavour.
