Celsius Holdings, owner of energy drinks brand Celsius, has acquired Big Beverages Contract Manufacturing for $75 million.

The deal, finalised on 1 November 2024, includes a 170,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility that is expected to enhance Celsius' supply chain control and production flexibility. Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, US, Big Beverages is a long-time co-packer of Celsius.

The facility will continue to focus on manufacturing Celsius products, with the existing management team and workforce remaining with the operation.

The acquisition allows Celsius to invest in research and development and create limited-time products. The facility also offers room for future growth, enabling the company to increase production as demand rises.

John Fieldly, chairman and CEO of Celsius, said: “We believe that this acquisition gives Celsius fantastic leverage to accelerate our product innovation and production capabilities so we can continue growing the energy drink category with our great tasting, functional and better-for-you performance energy drinks. The experienced team and modern facilities at Big Beverages are best-in-class, and we’re proud to continue working with these dedicated men and women to inspire even more consumers to live fit.”

He continued: “Vertical integration is a capital efficient growth lever that supports our vision to become the nation’s leading energy drink brand and unlocks shareholder value potential through better margin and profit structure.”
