Gü Desserts has unveiled three new seasonal desserts, including gingerbread and Speculoos-inspired products.
These offerings aim to tap into consumer demand for comforting, nostalgic flavours as the autumn and winter months approach.
Gü is responding to the rising popularity of Speculoos and Gingerbread. Speculoos, a caramelised biscuit made by Lotus Biscoff, has seen increased consumer interest. Meanwhile, social media has driven demand for gingerbread-inspired products.
The new desserts include:
Gingerbread Chocolate Melting Middle: A limited-edition twist on Gü's classic Meting Middle dessert, featuring warming autumn spices and a rich molten chocolate centre, topped with a Speculoos crumb.
Speculoos Cheesecake: Layered with Speculoos biscuit sprinkles and caramel crème over creamy cheesecake, resting on a crumbly Speculoos base.
Speculoos Sponge Pudding: A rich caramelised biscuit-flavoured sauce decorated with Speculoos biscuit, atop a soft buttery sponge.
Fred Ponnavoy, pâtisserie chef at Gü, added: "Speculoos is a beautifully complex flavour – it's warm, spiced and rich, evoking all the comfort and nostalgia of autumn. When creating these desserts, I wanted to capture that essence and elevate it."
"The balance of caramelised notes with spices like cinnamon and nutmeg is crucial in delivering a depth of flavour that unfolds with each spoonful. Every ingredient is carefully chosen to enhance the textures and richness, whether it’s the creaminess of the cheesecake or the gooey centre of the sponge pudding. It’s been a true labour of love, crafting something to bring our customers joy and indulgence."
The Gingerbread Chocolate Melting Middle is now available at Waitrose. The Speculoos Cheesecake can be found at both Sainsbury's and Waitrose, while the Speculoos Sponge Pudding is also offered at Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
