Gü Desserts has tapped into the trend of permissible indulgence with its latest launch, lower-calorie Cheeky Pots. The result of three years of R&D, Cheeky Pots are made with a minimum of 51% cocoa and contain under 155 calories. The non-HFSS pots are made with lighter ingredients such as reduced-fat cream cheese and fresh fruit compote. Emma Heeney, head of innovation at Gü, said: “This is Gü cheekily rebalanced to give you great taste with just enough sweetness...We're excited to have developed this non-HFSS offering without compromising the exceptional taste and quality Gü is known for.” Launching in two flavours, Gü Cheeky Pots are available in double chocolate and chocolate and cherry varieties. Double chocolate is a smooth chocolate dessert crafted with real milk chocolate and topped with rich, 70% cocoa dark chocolate crème – they contain no artificial sweeteners, 155 calories, and act as a source of protein. Chocolate and cherry features indulgent chocolate on top of a cherry compote made with real fruit. Each pot contains 137 calories and a minimum of 51% cocoa. In a statement, Gü said: “Stay tuned, as we have lots more indulgent Cheeky Pots in the works.” This is the latest in a number of innovations from the Gü brand. Last month, it unveiled a trio of new nostalgia-themed cheesecake desserts and last year it introduced cocktail-inspired pots and the limited-edition Gü Gold. The lighter pots are available to purchase now in Sainsbury’s and Co-op stores, with further retail rollout from May.
