CTP has signed an agreement to lease 28,000 square metres at CTPark Weiden to specialised beverage logistics company Sirl Interaktive Logistik. CTP is a European developer, owner and manager of industrial and logistics properties by gross lettable area. The site will be used for Heineken's new distribution centre in Germany. The warehouse – which will be operated by Sirl – will enable Heineken to expand its logistics network in Germany, to support increasing logistics demand as the beer market has grown in recent years. From January, the new warehouse, together with its distribution location in Duisburg, Germany, will supply the German market with Heineken’s entire German product portfolio. The lease comprises 17,000 square metres of warehouse space, 2,300 square metres of mezzanine space, 8,000 square metres of outdoor storage and a 700-square metre-office. The Weiden park was acquired by CTP in spring 2023 as part of the group's €300 million investment over the next few years to grow its warehouse portfolio in Germany, as it aims to double the size of its pan-European network of business parks by 2030. CTP is improving the sustainability of the park by installing LED lighting, using heat pumps to produce fossil fuel-free heating and installing photovoltaic systems. Parts of buildings that are no longer usable will be demolished, with construction waste recycled. Paul Groen, supply chain director for Heineken Germany, said: “With our new central warehouse in Weiden in der Oberpfalz, we are investing in future-proof and more sustainable logistics in order to meet the increased product capacities, shorten transport routes and supply our customers efficiently and flexibly with our brand portfolio. We are delighted to have Sirl Interaktive Logistik at our side as a strong partner for the site and logistics.”
