Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light, currently brewed by Anheuser-Busch, will move their US production to New Belgium Brewing's facilities at the end of 2024.
This decision follows Kirin’s plan to move US beer production to its subsidiary’s facilities after partnering with New Belgium Brewing.
Starting January 2025, New Belgium's Fort Collins and Asheville facilities will manage the brewing, marketing and sales of Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light. Anheuser-Busch will continue its current production and distribution roles until the transition is complete.
New Belgium CEO Shaun Belongie said: “I want to thank Kirin for entrusting New Belgium as stewards of Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light across the United States. We’re excited to grow our production portfolio, and we’re confident in our capacity to expand upon the success of these powerful brands.”
Masakazu Ashida, GM of overseas business at Kirin Brewery, noted: "We appreciate Anheuser-Busch’s support for Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light in the US. Moving these brands to New Belgium is a logical step for our US strategy. We are grateful for everyone's collaboration and commitment during this transition."
