Lamb Weston unveils new skin-on fries range for air fryers

Lamb Weston is introducing a new range of skin-on fries designed for air fryers and ovens.

The new products – which include Twister Fries, Potato Dippers, Seasoned Ziggy Fries, Salt & Pepper Grill Fries, Waffle Fries, Pub Chips and Burger Fries – are said to be the first to exclusively feature skin-on fries and chips. According to the company, this approach maximises the use of each potato and ensures high taste and texture quality.

With air fryer usage growing, the new fries address the demand for versatile cooking options. The packaging is made from 60% bio-circular plastic and reduces the carbon footprint by 30%.

Sebastiaan Besems, VP of commercial EMEA at Lamb Weston, said: “We’re excited to bring our extensive knowledge and passion for potatoes to the UK’s supermarket freezer aisles at a time when consumers are actively seeking interesting options, that meet their needs when it comes to home cooking, quality and sustainability.

“As the original creators of inventive shapes that are cut from whole potatoes, like Twister Fries, we’re ready to re-energise the frozen potato category, with delicious skin-on potato fries and chips that are perfected for air fryer and oven cooking and cater to current and emerging UK market trends.

“...This exciting project fits our sustainability agenda, which is driven by the need to conserve natural resources, prevent and eliminate food loss and waste, and limit our environmental impact where possible. And is fully aligned with our sustainability goals to halve our food waste, cut our product carbon footprint by a quarter, use less and better packaging and move to a more circular production by 2030.”

The product range is available starting at major UK retailers, beginning with Asda, with prices ranging from £2.75 to £3.30 per pack.
