Luxardo presents new cocktail bitters line

Luxardo presents new cocktail bitters line

Italian artisanal liqeuer producer Luxardo has introduced a new line of cocktail bitters, available in five flavours.

Luxardo Aromatic Infused Cocktail Bitters have launched in cherry, coffee, chamomile, orange and rhubarb varieties, designed to add complexity to a wide range of cocktails.

Produced in Italy, the range aims to reflect the company’s ‘dedication to quality and tradition’ and ensuring an ‘authentic and sophisticated’ flavour profile. The bitters can be used to add depth to both classic and modern cocktails.

The cherry bitters offer a tart, fruity and slightly spicy note, well-suited to enhancing the richness of whiskey- and gin-based cocktails, while the coffee bitters deliver rich, roasted flavours with a hint of bitterness. They pair well with dark spirits such as whiskey and rum.

The chamomile bitters offer a lighter, floral and herbaceous flavour designed to provide a ‘subtle sweetness and calming aroma,’ pairing well with cocktails such as a martini, gin and tonic, bee’s knees or whiskey sour. Meanwhile, the orange bitters deliver a zesty, citrusy orange flavour that pair well with whiskey, bourbon, gin, vodka and rum.

Finally, the rhubarb bitters, infused with tart rhubarb root, balance sweet and sour notes with a hint of bitterness, aiming to provide a unique tangy flavour that pairs well with vodka, gin or bourbon.

Luxardo’s new range is available in 200ml shelf-stable bottles, allowing for multiple uses. They have now launched in the US, imported by San Francisco's Hotaling & Co, in selected retailers and bars as well as on Amazon, with an SRP of $19.99 per bottle.

Matteo Luxardo, Luxardo board member and export director, said: “Given the global growth of cocktails and Luxardo's legacy in Italian artisanal spirits that spans more than 200 years, we're pleased to offer a new line of products that helps deliver the complexity and depth of flavour modern consumers expect from their cocktails”.

He added: “Bitters are like the seasoning of cocktails, giving top bartenders and at-home mixologists alike a way to experiment with different flavours and bring a new dimension to tried and true drinks”.
