Confectionery brand M&M’s has unveiled its latest innovation, combining chocolate and cookie dough in one bite-sized snack. M&M’s Cookie Dough features a cookie dough centre, coated in milk chocolate and housed in M&M’s classic crisp shell. The new flavour variant is one of the latest innovations to come out of Mars Wrigley’s Ballarat Innovation Hub following the company’s AUD 28.8 million (approx. $19.3 million) investment into its operations this year. The new confectionery will launch into the Australian market initially. Mars Wrigley’s marketing director, Ben Hill, said: “We’re seeing a rise in consumers not only wanting flavour variations from their favourite snacks and treats, but textural experiences as well. Our new M&M’s Cookie Dough houses a real cookie dough centre in the heart of an M&M.” He continued: “Our investment into our Ballarat Factory over the last few years has been focused on bolstering our chocolate and candy-making capabilities; enabling us to create even more innovations and increase productivity. This world-first innovation speaks to what our Australian consumers love; the iconic combination of cookie dough and chocolate, as well as demonstrates our local capability to keep producing leading product innovations.” The new snacks will launch into Australian retailers from January 2024.
