Nestlé to launch travel retail-exclusive sustainably sourced chocolate range

Nestlé to launch travel retail-exclusive sustainably sourced chocolate range

Nestlé has announced the launch of a new travel retail-exclusive chocolate range, Nestlé Sustainably Sourced, debuting across airports this summer.

The new brand’s products are crafted using cocoa that is certified by the Rainforest Alliance and sourced through the Nestlé Cocoa Plan.

Established by Nestlé 15 years ago, the Nestlé Cocoa Plan has engaged more than 170,000 families so far, building on three pillars: improving livelihoods in farming communities, improving social conditions for families and improving cocoa product sustainability.

The new travel retail brand will be available in airports globally. Travellers will be able to personalise their 170g and 280g bars by adding their own messages to the product sleeves. The range’s branding aims to bring awareness to the Nestlé Cocoa Plan and its Rainforest Alliance collaboration.

Aura Sanchez, head of marketing at Nestlé Travel Retail, said: “Through creative branding, we can provide transparency on the origin of the cocoa used in our chocolate. It enables us to raise awareness about our longstanding commitments to supporting cocoa-farming families and the long-term sustainability of cocoa production.”

Nestlé recently launched the first KitKat made with fully traceable cocoa ingredients sourced from the farming families it supports. In line with other Nestlé confectionery brands that have transitioned to paper packaging, such as Smarties, the new chocolate products will also be available in a recyclable paper pouch.
