Sunsweet Growers has introduced PlumGood, a new juice beverage made from California-grown plums.
The drink contains no added sugar, has 60 calories per serving and offers fiber, zinc and vitamin C.
The company said that unlike its prune juice, which is made from dried plums, PlumGood is made from fresh plums and is intended to offer a lighter, fruitier taste.
CJ McClellan, VP of marketing, North America at Sunsweet Growers, said: "PlumGood has many similarities to our original plum juice, Plum Smart, but with added zinc, increased fibre and vitamin C. Consumer insights and research guided this reformulation, ensuring we delivered on an increased desire for products that help support both digestive health and immunity."
Sunsweet's partner, Erin Palinski-Wade, added: "I'm excited about this new offering from Sunsweet because it provides a juice option that helps all of my clients, including those with diabetes, satisfy their sweet cravings while supporting their digestive health."
She continued: "With 4g of fibre per serving, PlumGood is delicious on its own, blends beautifully into smoothies and can be added to baked goods for a nutritious boost."
PlumGood is available in 48oz bottles and 7.5oz cans (in 4-packs) at retailers including Giant, Weis Markets, Wegmans and Raley’s, as well as online via Sunsweet’s website. Regional availability is expected to expand.
