Valeo Foods Group has acquired Canadian maple syrup business Appalaches Nature.
The company operates from a 100,000-square-foot carbon-neutral facility in Thetford Mines, Québec.
Founded in 2018, Appalaches Nature supplies maple syrup to European markets and is expanding in Canada and the US. This deal marks Valeo Foods’ second acquisition in North America, strengthening its position in the global natural sweeteners market.
Valeo Foods already owns Les Industries Bernard & Fils, a major maple syrup processor that has grown by 30% since 2022. The company also leads in the honey market with its Rowse Honey brand, distributing over 30,000 tonnes of honey annually.
Appalaches Nature will be integrated with Bernard to increase production capacity and support expansion in Europe and internationally. The existing management team of Appalaches Nature will continue to lead daily operations in collaboration with Bernard’s management.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
