Vimto celebrates 100th birthday with web challenge

*Vimto, famous for Shlurple the Purple, a soft drink in the UK, has launched an interactive online game where fans are invited to solve the mystery of the missing birthday cake – a challenge based on the popular Cluedo board game. Players who solve the mystery will be entered into prize draw with an opportunity to win £10,000. * The game scenario revolves around Vimto's 100 year birthday party organised at the factory. A commemorative birthday cake has been made, using all of the original Vimto ingredients, including the drink’s secret formula.

However, the special cake has gone missing leaving a question mark over the identity of the culprit! Gamers will need to be undeterred by attempts to slow down their detective work in order to figure out who, out of the cast of six characters – Professor Purple, Colonel Cordial, Miss Redgrape, Bella Beverage, Sydney Shlurpler and Fizzy Lizzy – has the sticky fingers.

Vimto is supporting the activities through on-pack messaging on 2.2 million bottles informing consumers of the game.
