Carlsberg Britvic’s Aqua Libra brand has added a watermelon and strawberry flavour to its infused sparkling water range.
Available in multipacks of four and 24 via the UK grocery channel, the new flavour features a blend of sweet flavour profiles and is free from sugar and preservatives. It has zero calories and is described as providing a ‘clean, crisp taste’.
The launch responds to data from Black Swan showing that watermelon and strawberry are growing flavours within the packaged water category. Additionally, Mintel research found that 57% of under 35s think drinking a flavoured sparkling water is as enjoyable as a soft drink.
Aqua Libra’s new addition aims to support continued growth in the category while opening it up to a younger, health-conscious Gen Z audience by offering a tasty and hydrating option.
Ben Parker, Carlsberg Britvic’s retail commercial director UK, said: “Aqua Libra is now valued at £7.4 million in sales and growing at an impressive 66% year on year, making it the fastest-growing infused sparkling water brand in the UK. We are always looking for ways to provide our retail partners with high-quality, in-demand products that help drive footfall and increase sales.”
He added: “We’re confident that the watermelon and strawberry flavour will resonate with health-conscious consumers, providing retailers the chance to appeal to even more shoppers”.
