Petra Westphal, longtime leader of the Drinktec trade fair brand, will step down from her role as executive vice president at Yontex on Monday 30 June 2025.

She is leaving at her own request to take on a new position at Messe München. The decision was made by mutual agreement with Yontex management.

Westphal has played a central role in shaping the global strategy of Drinktec over the past three decades, holding senior positions including project group leader and cluster director. She led the expansion of the brand into India and China, and was instrumental in building international partnerships and networks across the beverage and liquid food industry.

As part of the Messe München–NürnbergMesse joint venture, Westphal recently oversaw the implementation of a new organisational structure and led strategic initiatives, including the integration of Drinktec into the Eats portfolio and the rebranding of Drinktec India.

Yontex's managing director, Rolf Keller, said: "Yontex has benefited enormously from Petra Westphal's market knowledge and commitment during the founding of Yontex. We would like to express our sincere thanks for these good foundations on which we are now building. We wish Petra Westphal all the best for her next professional steps."

Westphal added: "I would like to thank Yontex for the trust they have placed in me and look back with pride on what I have achieved. The many personal and professional experiences that I have gained over the last 30 years in the beverage and liquid food industry have inspired me over the time and filled me with gratitude. I carry many cherished memories with me. Starting in its third year; I wish Yontex and the entire team continued success for all future endeavours."
