Incredo introduces concentrated sugar reduction solution

Food-tech company Incredo has launched Incredo Sugar G2, a concentrated version of its sugar-based reduction solution, Incredo Sugar. The latest addition to Incredo’s range of sugar reduction solutions, Incredo Sugar G2 is a clean-label, patent-pending concentrated sugar-carrier complex crafted from a blend of real sugar (derived from cane or beet) and protein.

Available in both plant-based and dairy-based options, it caters to various dietary preferences and manufacturers seeking clean-label ingredients.

As it's derived from sugar, Incredo Sugar G2 preserves the sweetness and sensory characteristics of sugar without any lingering aftertaste, while using up to 50% less sugar content. Offering versatility, it seamlessly integrates into recipes without the need for a complete sugar replacement.

This allows it to be added alongside the current sugar supply as a micro-ingredient, without requiring alterations to procurement or supply chain processes. Moreover, its concentrated form enables more sustainable production, storage and manufacturing in smaller quantities.

Kelly Thompson, co-CEO and commercial head for Incredo, stated: “Our aim when working with food manufacturers to achieve their sugar reduction goals is to offer a solution that suits their specific needs.

This latest addition to our product portfolio provides another option for our partners that allows seamless integration into the manufacturing process, while leveraging our innovative technology.”David Tsivion, co-CEO and chief technology officer for Incredo, added: “We’re committed to providing innovative solutions which deliver sugar-reduced food products that are both tasty and nutritious. As we expand our ingredient portfolio with the launch of Incredo Sugar G2, we’ll continue to uphold our commitment to providing a full end-to-end solution, including providing our partners with guidance on any necessary recipe reformulation, bulking and production know how and strategic optimisations specific to desired food applications.” Earlier this year, Incredo received a 'no questions' response letter from the US Food & Drug Administration for the Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) notice submitted by the company, signifying the safety of Incredo Sugar G2 for use in food products. Incredo Sugar G2 is now available to companies in the US & Europe, enabling incorporation into a wide range of products such as baked goods, chocolates, spreads and gummies.
