Kabrita goat milk formula first to earn top Clean Label Project certifications

Kabrita, a global goat milk formula manufacturer, has become the first and only goat milk-based infant formula to achieve the Clean Label Project's (CLP) highest levels of purity and safety certification.

The non-profit CLP, which recognises brands that exceed minimum regulatory standards, has awarded Kabrita's goat milk-based infant formula its First 1,000 Day Promise Certification, Pesticide Free Award and Purity Award.

"These certifications provide an important third-party reassurance of the strict safety standards that go into our high-quality products," said Elieke Kearns, director of medical and scientific affairs at Kabrita USA.

Kabrita, along with a select few companies like Bubs and Kendamil, has introduced goat milk-based infant formula in the US, meeting all FDA requirements after rigorous clinical testing.

Goat milk proteins are more similar to breast milk than cow milk, making them easier for babies to digest. Kabrita's formula also contains five times more naturally occurring oligosaccharides than cow's milk, a key component of breast milk.

"Goat milk-based infant formula is a welcome addition to the U.S. market, and we're thrilled parents can feed their babies with confidence knowing that Kabrita's infant formula is of the highest quality and standards," said Jackie Bowen, founder of CLP.

Kabrita USA is a subsidiary of Ausnutria, a Dutch company which manages the entire supply chain, from farm to finished product. The company implements a rigorous safety process that includes more than 90 quality checks for all formulas produced in its manufacturing facilities.

Goat milk is sourced from over 100 family-run farms in the Netherlands, with production facilities located in Ommen, Kampen, Leeuwarden and Heerenveen.
