Mead producer Hive Mind enters soft drinks category with Honeyade range

Mead specialist Hive Mind has entered the soft drinks category with the launch of four new ‘Honeyade’ canned beverage products.

Founded in 2019, Hive Mind was established as a traditional mead and honey beer company, built on brothers Matt and Kit Newell’s beekeeping and brewing expertise.

The brand is now marking its entry into the soft drinks arena with its new RTD Honeyade range, featuring four natural soft drinks sweetened with British honey and containing a mixture of fruit, herbs and botanicals.

Honeyade’s four-strong line-up includes Just Honey, Strawberry & Basil, Lime & Mint and Rhubarb & Ginger flavours. They aim to provide a natural alternative to traditional ‘ultra-processed’ soft drinks, containing no synthetic ingredients.

This launch follows in the footsteps of the brand’s existing range of meads, developed to offer a ‘stripped back,’ refined sugar-free return to traditional mead production, crafted with just honey, water and yeast.

Co-founder Kit Newell commented: “Initial interest has been incredible in these increasingly health-conscious times, with growing numbers of consumers wanting access to transparent, no-nonsense soft drinks with clear sustainable ambitions – namely helping to replace declining pollinator populations and supporting rural regeneration”.
