Japanese confectionery company Meiji is expanding its chocolate portfolio with two new limited-edition products, available nationwide in Japan.
The new varieties – Almond Chocolate Crunch Okinawa Salt & Milk and Macadamia Chocolate Okinawa Salt & Premium Vanilla – both feature Okinawa salt as a key ingredient.
Almond Chocolate Crunch Okinawa Salt & Milk combines crispy almonds with chocolate mixed with puffed grains and Okinawa salt, offering a sweet-salty flavour and crunchy texture.
Meanwhile, Macadamia Chocolate Okinawa Salt & Premium Vanilla features macadamia nuts coated in white chocolate infused with vanilla and Okinawa salt, using real vanilla seeds to enhance aroma and flavour.
The launch builds on the success of similar Okinawa salt chocolate products released last summer, which sold more than 1.48 million units. This year’s additions introduce new textures and flavours inspired by vanilla ice cream.
