Modern beverages for every lifestyle from ADM

Our proprietary data shows that millennial and Gen Z consumers’ lifestyle beverage preferences are changing and differ from previous generations in a variety of ways. We’re working with partners like you to develop modern drinks for regions around the world that deliver on these evolving consumer expectations. Whether you’re creating lifestyle beverages for relaxing, celebrating or rehydrating, ADM has the innovative ingredients and insights you need to create custom products for any situation and every thirst.

Relaxing, celebrating, or rehydrating – consumers want beverages for a variety of lifestyles

From juicy drinks to teas to everything in between, modern consumers expect more from their beverages. Our research has revealed that consumers’ ideal lifestyle beverages contain great-tasting natural flavours, added functionality, low/no sugar, energy from natural sources, vibrant colours and no artificial sweetening. Interestingly, our data also revealed that 81% of millennials and Gen Zers listed hydration as very important for their overall physical and mental health. Both age groups also showed a strong preference for lifestyle drinks that support cognitive health, with 72% of respondents listing cognitive health as an integral part of their overall wellness. We know that for modern brands to win in the beverage marketplace, they need to cater toward these evolving expectations among younger consumers.

Our experts also noticed a strong consumer preference among millennials and Gen Zers for energising and alertness properties in their lifestyle drinks, though consumers often chose different types of energising beverages for different activities. For example, respondents often chose sports drinks for when they were playing sports or attending concerts and energy drinks when they were studying or engaging in physical labour. Overall, consumers looked for vitamin B, electrolytes, caffeine, vitamin E, magnesium and more ingredients they view as beneficial to their overall health and wellness in beverages they chose for their energising properties.

Maximum taste. Ultimate refreshment. Lifestyle beverages.

Whether it’s the perfect refreshment to enjoy with friends or after a great run to rehydrate, ADM has the proprietary insights and custom solutions to help your brand develop the perfect beverage for any lifestyle and occasion.
