North American ingredient solutions provider NutriScience Innovations has acquired XSTO Solutions. XSTO is a value-added supplier of nutraceutical and functional ingredients, based in New Jersey, US.

The acquisition will help NutriScience expand the functional and science-backed health benefits of its product lines and will deepen partnerships with its supply partners to develop new products that meet changing consumer needs.

The transaction adds six new branded products to NutriScience’s portfolio of ingredients and strengthens its position in supplying ingredients to leading brands in the wellness, food and beverage industries. The company says it now offers solutions ‘across all key health benefit categories’.

The new products feature ‘unique’ benefits and include PepZinGI (zinc-L--carnosine) for gut health, K2Quest (vitamin K2 MK7) for bone and cardiovascular health, BenfoPure (vitamin B1 analogue) for blood glucose control and NiaXtend (niacin) for cardiovascular and healthy lipid level support.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
