T. Hasegawa USA enhances North American operations with Abelei Flavors acquisition

T. Hasegawa USA, a subsidiary of global flavour and fragrance giant T. Hasegawa Co, has announced its acquisition of Abelei Flavors.

This move aims to expand T. Hasegawa’s flavour portfolio and strengthen its presence in the North American market. The acquisition aligns with T. Hasegawa's ongoing strategy to enhance its technical capabilities and geographical reach.

Abelei Flavors, a privately-held flavour solutions company founded in 1981, manufactures top-tier flavours that elevate a wide range of products across the F&B, confection, dairy, health, nutrition and pet industries. The company specialises in sweet brown, citrus, fruit and other signature flavours.

"The acquisition of Abelei Flavors expands our geographical footprint, technical capabilities and overall flavour portfolio so we can better serve our customers," said Tom Damiano, CEO of T. Hasegawa USA. "We welcome their entire team, which is well known for their customer service excellence and aligns with our customer-centric focus."

Shelley Henderson, vice president of operations at Abelei Flavors, added: "We couldn't find a more perfect partner in joining the T. Hasegawa team for continued growth in the US marketplace. The collaboration of resources, talent, and innovation will significantly enhance our existing capabilities."

The acquisition is expected to leverage T. Hasegawa's advanced technologies in flavour modulation and processing, which could provide a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving food and beverage sector.

Marcia Arb, vice president of finance and operations at Abelei Flavors, noted: "The approach that T. Hasegawa USA brings to customer responsiveness and order fulfilment is remarkable. I know our customers will benefit from their expertise in supply chain management."

She continued: "The customer-first vision and culture that both companies share through quality, operations, technology and innovation will continue to provide world-class service and capabilities to our valued customers".
