UK bakery brand Warburtons has announced the launch of gluten-free soft pittas as part of its three-year investment plan aimed at expanding its gluten-free portfolio. According to the company, the soft pittas have the "same high-quality expected from Warburtons," boasting a "fluffy" texture and "authentic" taste. In addition to being free from gluten, wheat and milk, the new soft pittas boast high calcium content, are a great source of fibre and are Coeliac UK certified, all while being baked in Warburtons' specialised gluten-free bakery located in Newburn.

Jonathan Warburton, chairman of Warburtons, said: “Everyone should be able to enjoy high-quality bakery products, regardless of dietary restrictions. Gluten-free shoppers shouldn’t have to compromise on quality and taste, and our Warburtons gluten-free range delivers on both.
