Woodland Gourmet acquires Sevillo Fine Foods

Woodland Gourmet acquires Sevillo Fine Foods

Woodland Gourmet has announced the acquisition of Sevillo Fine Foods, a creator of chef-inspired ready-to-eat frozen ingredients.

Based in Utah, US, Sevillo Fine Foods provides culinary ingredients, including fire-grilled vegetables, slow-roasted tomatoes, pickled vegetables, spreads and sauces.

Woodland Gourmet was founded in 1989 as Woodland Foods, and is a specialist in exploration of speciality and dry ingredients. Its latest acquisition aims to enhance the company's product portfolio and value-added capabilities to further solidify its position in the foodservice, retail and industrial markets.

John Buckles, CEO of Woodland Gourmet, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Sevillo Fine Foods into the Woodland Gourmet family, Sevillo’s dedication to quality and innovation complements our vision to cultivate authentic, culinary-forward solutions and experiences for the food industry. This acquisition allows us to expand our offerings and better serve our diverse customer base."

The integration is anticipated to provide significant commercial and cross-selling opportunities, particularly within the strategic foodservice distribution channel. The combined capabilities of Woodland Gourmet and Sevillo aim to strengthen and scale the development of custom products and flavours that are tailored to customers' needs.

"Joining forces with Woodland Gourmet is an exciting opportunity to expand our operations and bring our expertise and award-winning products to a broader audience," said Jeff Babikian, owner of Sevillo Fine Foods. "Together, we seek to offer unique customer solutions enabled by a diverse portfolio, enhanced capabilities, and the same unwavering commitment to quality and flavour."

The deal follows Woodland Gourmet’s purchase of Idan Foods, a US-based breading and batters manufacturer, last April.
