Blommer Chocolate introduces cocoa butter alternative chocolate

Blommer Chocolate introduces cocoa butter alternative chocolate

Blommer Chocolate has unveiled its latest product line, Elevate, aimed at revolutionising the confectionery industry with innovative and cost-effective solutions for chocolatiers and confectioners seeking alternatives to traditional cocoa butter.

The announcement comes amid a challenging global cocoa market, with a reported 11% decline in production this year, according to the International Cocoa Organization. Scott Funk, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Blommer, commented: "As the market value of cocoa butter continues to rise, it is exciting to have a product to offer our customers that provides an economically viable alternative without compromising on quality”.

Developed by Blommer's R&D experts, Elevate's coatings use cocoa butter equivalent technology, ensuring seamless integration with cocoa butter and superior bloom resistance for extended shelf life and visual appeal. This formulation enhances the chocolate-like sensory experience, optimising flavour release.

Mark Okita, chief operating officer and senior vice president of commercial at Blommer, added: “With access to the most pioneering and advanced ingredient technologies from our parent company, Fuji Oil Holding Group, we can provide the ultimate and consistent solutions to satisfy our rapidly changing consumer needs. This is a game changer, delivering additional value and affordable indulgence for our customers and chocolate lovers in the US.”
