David secures $10m investment to develop high-protein food products

David secures $10m investment to develop high-protein food products

David, a platform focused on muscle growth and fat reduction, has raised $10 million in a seed funding round.

The round was led by CEO and co-founder Peter Rahal, with participation from Valor Siren Ventures, David's chief science officer Peter Attia and neuroscientist Andrew Huberman.

The funds will be used to develop science-based food products and build a team of experts. According to the company, its first product, a protein bar, will offer the highest amount of whey protein per calorie on the market, with no sugar, gluten, artificial sweeteners or flavours.

Rahal said: "Michelangelo's sculpture of David reflects our methodical approach to idealism and dedication to materializing perfection. This funding will allow us to continue developing high-quality, research-backed products that meet the nutritional needs of consumers."

Attia added: "My involvement with David stems from a shared commitment to science-driven nutrition that prioritises muscle growth and effective fat management. Protein is essential for longevity, and our products are designed with that in mind. With Peter Rahal's proven leadership and the strategic backing of our investors, I believe we are set to lead the industry in creating meaningful change.''
