Ferrero UK has expanded its ice cream range with the launch of Nutella Ice Cream Tubs, debuting in Morrisons stores nationwide.

The 470ml tubs contain hazelnut-flavoured ice cream with swirls of Nutella throughout, finished with a layer of the iconic breakfast spread on top.

The launch builds on Nutella’s growth out of the spreads category, having successfully moved into biscuits and bakery previously.

A spokesperson for Ferrero said: “Early strong performances across Europe confirm the potential of Nutella Ice Cream here in the UK. When you consider that the tubs segment in the UK is the largest across Europe at a value of just above £300 million, the potential for retailers operating in this market is incredibly exciting – particularly with the brand’s loyal fan base."

Dani Hayward-Bradley, regional marketing director for Ferrero UK and Ireland, revealed that the company’s team has spent “years” perfecting the recipe for the ice cream NPD.

“We know that fans will be eager to try the unique Nutella taste and melt-in-the-mouth creaminess of our ice cream, and we’re happy that now we can give them a new and exciting way to experience the brand,” she added.

The tubs are rolling out now in Morrisons, with a wider roll-out planned across the UK later this year and into 2025.
