GoodLife Foods has entered into an agreement to acquire Pure Ingredients, a prominent player in the halal frozen food sector.
This acquisition aims to create a robust entity focused on the production and distribution of frozen snacks and meal components across Europe.
Headquartered in Nettetal-Kaldenkirchen, Germany, Pure Ingredients specialises in halal-certified frozen products, offering a diverse range of branded and private label items.
The company serves a wide customer base across ethnic supermarkets, retail and foodservice channels, primarily in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, while aiming to expand its international footprint.
With a workforce of over 200 employees, Pure Ingredients operates three advanced production facilities—two in the Netherlands and one in Germany. The current owner, Wout van Eeuwijk, is expected to remain involved with the company post-acquisition, ensuring continuity in leadership.
This strategic acquisition follows GoodLife Foods' recent purchase of Audens Food Group, an Iberian frozen food market manufacturer.
Dirk Van de Walle, CEO of GoodLife Foods, said: "The acquisition of Pure Ingredients, alongside our recent acquisition in Spain and Portugal, enhances our ability to capitalise on our market potential with innovative products and dedicated teams".
The halal food market has seen increasing demand across Europe, driven by a rising Muslim population and a growing interest in diverse culinary options among non-Muslim consumers.
Jos Bongers, CEO of Pure Ingredients, added: "This transaction allows us to expand our halal products into markets where GoodLife Foods already has an established presence, facilitating further professionalisation across all functional areas".
GoodLife Foods, recognised as one of Europe's largest producers of frozen savoury food products, operates six production sites across the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark.
The company’s strategic acquisitions indicate a focused effort to enhance its market share and product range amid a competitive landscape.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, and the transaction is currently pending legal and regulatory approvals.
